Worthy Supreme Officers, Past Supreme Presidents, Ex-Supreme Officers, Honorary Supreme Officers, Spouses of Past Supreme Presidents, Supreme Junior Officers, District Deputies, Officers and Members of the Subordinate Councils of the S.E.S. of the State of California.
It is with great honor and pleasure that I accept the opportunity to represent the Sociedade do Espirito Santo do Estado da California as your Supreme Junior President for the 2007-2008 administration.
I’ve been a member of Council No.8 of Newark for twenty two years. In 1990 I served as baby queen for my grandpa for the S.E.S. Holy Ghost Festa in Newark and in 1992 was S.E.S. Convention queen for my grandma. Ten years ago, I moved to Tracy, Ca. and that’s when I also became a member of Council No.5 of Tracy.
In August of 2003 I had the pleasure of going to Hawaii with Junior District #6 of Merced as they were invited to perform for a cultural event. I was intrigued with what I was surrounded with for those nine days and was sparked to attend the convention that November in Buellton, Ca. It was there that I was asked to sit pro-temp as Junior Director. I began my journey that weekend and was installed as Junior Marshal.
This year, I am very excited to follow in some very big shoes that have been bestowed to me and to do my utmost to represent the Juniors of our society. I’m looking forward to visiting the many towns hosting visits and all the new friendships that will be made along the way.
To Past Supreme President Joe Louro and his wife Janice, I commend you on an outstanding year and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the help and support you have shown not only to myself, but to the juniors as well!
To Past Junior President Paula Teixeira, where do I start?! You have set such an example of what true fraternalism looks like and should be very proud of yourself and all of the goals you were able to accomplish this past year!
To the past and present Junior Officers and Junior Movement Committee, thank you for all your support and I look forward to working hand in hand with each one of you this upcoming year. We make a great team!
I would like to thank the 2007 Convention Committee for the successful convention and to Council No.18 of Stevenson for hosting it. A big thank you for all your help and support this past year.
To my wonderful family, boyfriend and close friends, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help and support leading up to the convention. This next year will be a journey but with all of you by my side, I know it will be possible.
Last but not least, to Supreme President Richard Castro, I look forward to the wonderful year we have ahead of us. We will make a great team and I don’t think I could’ve had my year serving as Junior President any other way. May the Divine Holy Spirit guide us in all of our endeavors this year as we travel the State promoting the fraternalism of the society.
